What does Syndicated News mean?

If you've read newspapers over the years, you've seen many syndicated columns. Folks like Dave Barry, Heloise, and many others write one column and many newspapers agree to publish their work in numerous newspapers. This is also done with comic strips.

However, that's not what I mean in this particular instance. There are many individuals, businesses, and organizations that publish blogs and other content that is available in RSS or XML format. RSS means Really Simple Syndication -- Learn more about RSS. XML means Extensible Markup Language.

You don't have to know the technical details to learn to use this. In this section of JohnDilbeck.com, I've done all the behind the scenes work to syndicate the latest postings on the following blogs. All you have to do is click on the page you want to read and you can see the most recent articles on that blog, right in your browser.

Most of the feeds on this page are my blogs, but I'll be adding more syndicated news here as I find more content and get permission to syndicate it.

In addition to the syndicated news feeds and blogs on this page, I have a blogroll at the bottom of the page where I recommend blogs I read and follow.

My Blogroll - Recommended Blogs

I use my blogroll for several things. I can keep up with new postings on blogs I read on a regular basis. I can see if someone has posted a comment on any of my blogs in the blogroll. I can recommend blogs that you may want to consider.

I've set up my blogroll so that any blog that has a message posted in the last 48 hours will have "New" added behind the name. It makes it very convenient for me to check that blog and see what's been added.

You can set up your own blogroll at Blogrolling.com.
