Sponsoring sections of EPage.com
Posted by johndilbeck on Friday, October 25 2002 at 11:53 AM Category: (default)
Last week, I decided to sponsor several sections of EPage.com.
On the site, there are over 400,000 categories filled with millions of links, discussion forums, classifieds, and additional content. Join a discussion (It's free!) or post your own classified ad.
Subscribe to EPage content (EPagelets™) and earn money from your Web site. EPagelets provide compelling and dynamic content for your Web site, and are simple to install.
You can see some of these in action in my Directory, starting in the Arts and Crafts sections. I'll be adding more to other sections of JohnDilbeck.com.
You can create your own EPagelet to promote your Web site or service with just a few clicks. Subscribers will show your content all over the Web. Create your own affiliate program with EPage. You can also use our site sponsorship service to put your ad on specific Web sites.
EPage provides a marketplace for Web site content. Publishers can author EPagelets and pay subscribers as an incentive to install their EPagelet. Subscribers can earn revenue for installing an EPagelet on their Web site. Anyone can publish and subscribe to EPagelets.
EPage builds on the Open Directory Project and adds their own services to it. They also provide links to the ODP for you to submit your website. If you have a particular interest, there is a section (or several) that you'll find interesting. Find other websites in your interest area, or promote your site using their service.
At this point, it's new, but it's growing.
I'm happy to be one of the first sponsors and I look forward to watching EPage grow and prosper.

Last week, I added some designs to the Dating section. New designs are in the Freak and Freak Magnet sections.
Starting today, 10/16/2002, I'll be keeping a running list of what's new here and in the What's New? section of John Dilbeck's Shirts, Mugs, and Hats.
Today, I added new design to the Do It Yourself section, and started adding designs to the new Graphics Only Designs section of the Blacksmithing Designs part of the store.

Something's up, and I'm not quite sure what it is going to be, but I know I'm interested in it.
Why?
Because of the two people who are involved. Both are marketing legends.
Mark Joyner is the international best-selling author of MindControlMarketing.com, a book that shot up to #1 on Amazon.com in less than 2 days, a testament to his writing and marketing skills.
(Let me say a couple of things here to clarify my position on this book. I haven't read it, but I intend to purchase it when I can free up some time. I loathe spam email marketing and some have accused him of this, but I don't see it. I've subscribed and unsubscribed to his lists in the past with no problems. I just clicked on my link, above, and read several negative reviews, but the overall rating is still over 4, which is excellent. So, I went to the Amazon.com site and read all the reviews. They seem to be split into "This is great" or "This sucks". The ones that rank it highly are people I respect. I've read their books, I've studied their websites. I've followed their techniques--at least some of them--with good results. The reviews of the "This sucks" variety are from people I've never heard of. I know that doesn't mean much since there are lots of people I've never heard of who are intelligent and capable of making rational judgements of their own. However, many of them are poorly written, and that leads me to disregard them. You should make your own judgements about this book. And remember, if you or I purchase this book from Amazon.com and don't like it, we can return it for a full refund. One thing is for certain. It has created a marketing firestorm and lots of controversy.)
Jay Conrad Levinson is the author of the outstandingly-succesful book, Guerrilla Marketing, and many others that help small businesses market their products and services successfully. Most of us don't have a lot of money to spend on advertising and publicity, so we have to be creative. These books have provided thousands of us with creative solutions to our marketing problems. I've been reading and using his books for over 20 years.
Now, both of them have teamed up. It's still brand new and they're only releasing some tantalyzing glimpses, but it's caught my attention. This is the first time I've ever signed up for a product without even knowing what it is, but I did that a few days ago. (Of course, I'm not a gambler, and they offer a money-back guarantee, and it's less than $4.00, so it's not much risk at this point.)
Here's an abstract from a letter Mark Joyner recently sent me that I'd like you to see:
Why will it only take 28 minutes a month for Guerrilla Marketing Bombshells to increase your profits?
You'll have to click on the link to find out why the select few who have seen the product plan are begging to get early access to the product (sorry, no one can get access until the launch date - click on the link below to find out when).
But, here are the top 3 reasons why it's vital that you sign up now during the pre-launch phase:
1. Secure your position in the highest paying 2x15 forced matrix in the industry. A full matrix pays (click below for answer) per month.
2. This is a unique high-demand product that will be physically impossible for anyone to duplicate. Brought to you by two names that are legends in the industry (click below to find out who).
3. You'll be given an opportunity to promote GMB before the launch and pre-build your matrix. Pre-launch and launch dates are: (click below for answer).
The product will be in high demand by anyone who wants to generate more profit from their business. In fact, it will only take 28 minutes a month. (That's less than a minute a day.)
Sign up here now.
So, it caught my attention.
Will it work for me? Will it work for you?
I don't know.
But I'm willing to invest $4.00 to see if it's something that will help me make lots more money. I've earned back many times my investments in books by these folks, and I'm looking forward to seeing just what this is all about -- and then putting it to use.
Click the link above, and see for yourself.
Many new t-shirts coming soon.
Posted by johndilbeck on Wednesday, October 16 2002 at 1:37 PM Category: (default)
For the last couple of weeks, I've been working long, long hours creating new t-shirt designs for my t-shirt store (see link on the top of every page on this site).
Now that I've located a great source of art I can use (see the story a couple of articles below), I'm adding lots of graphics to the shirts, in addition to, or even instead of, text.
Some like words, some like pictures. I like both.
You're always invited to visit John Dilbeck's Shirts, Mugs, and Hats store.
Does Your Site Sell?
Posted by johndilbeck on Friday, October 4 2002 at 12:10 PM Category: (default)
Perhaps the more important question is, "Does your site sell as much as you want it to?"
Many of us know how to build web sites, but don't know what to do to make them sell our products and services. If we have thousands or millions of dollars to spend for advertising, it's easier, but the rest of us have to be more creative.
I've been taking the courses Ken Evoy writes to promote his products (all of which I wholeheartedly endorse) and I've studied and implemented what I've learned in several of his ebooks. It takes time, but my sites are getting steadily-increasing traffic, more sales, and better results from the search engines.
I taught myself to build websites, but I learned how to market products and services on those sites from Ken Evoy.
He has just released a new course for folks who want to sell their services online. You can download his new free ebook version of the new Service Sellers Masters Course eBook and his other courses from my free ebooks page. Or, if you prefer, you can take the multi-part courses via email.

I found a great source for clip art and more
Posted by johndilbeck on Thursday, October 3 2002 at 8:29 AM Category: (default)
I found a great site for clip art, photos, sounds, fonts, and more. For less than $8.00 for one week (less per week if you subscribe for longer periods) you can download as much as you'd like and use it on your website, advertising, commercial products such as t-shirts, and more, and you don't have to pay additional royalties or license fees. With over 2.5 million things to choose from, you're sure to find something that fits your needs. They have a great search engine to find just what you want in a short amount of time.
Use clip art and photos to illustrate your ads, ebooks, catalogs, and other products. Choose from fonts that help your message. All for one low fee. Subscribe for a week. Next month, or sometime later, when you need it, subscribe for another week.
They add several thousand new items every month.
If you need a great source of high quality art, you can subscribe for a year for less than $200.00 and download everything you need for the whole year.
I use this service and recommend it highly.
You can use their search engine to look for what you want before you purchase. If you need photos, clip art, web art, fonts or sound, you'd have a hard time finding a better source.
I own several CD collections of clip art and it always takes me hours to look through the books and images to find what I want. Here, you can search quickly and find something in minutes...or less.
