Lee Elbert Godfrey (1897 - 1985), born September 27, 1897, Coal Mountain, Forsyth County, Georgia, died November 27, 1985, Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia. Married 1st, December 19, 1919, Cornelia Edith Lockaby.

They had 8 children:

1 - Mattie Lee	(already described, see Mattie Lee Godfrey)
2 - Floyd	born March 30, 1922, died December 31, 1990 married, August 21, 1942, Betty Jane McArthur, born September 26, 1926. They had 4 children. He was a World War II veteran.
3 - Lloyd	born March 30, 1922, died January 26, 1923.
4 - Nelia Elizabeth	born March 25, 1927 (stillborn).
5 - Geneva Karlene	born July 30, 1928, married to John Patton (divorced).
6 - Louise	born September 29, 1932, died October 30, 1932.
7 - Jackie (Jack) Berry	born April 9, 1935, Atlanta, Georgia, died September 1, 1991, Vero Beach, Florida. Married 1st, June 10, 1961 in Vero Beach Florida, Evelyn Smith (divorced), born July 15, ?? in North Carolina. They had 3 children. Married 2nd, August 6, 1971 in Vero Beach, Florida, Krecilia Faye (Faye) Lee Evers, born August 28, 1941 in North Carolina. They had no children.
8 - Norene	born October 22, 1937 (lived 4 hours)

Married 2nd, February 22, 1952, "Elizabeth Eliza Collier", born September 1, 1907, Decatur, Dekalb Co., Georgia, died March 16, 1997, Atlanta, Fulton Co., Georgia.

Lee Elbert Godfrey's father was Elbert Cisney Godfrey and his mother was Martha Carolyn Rives (Mattie). Cornelia Edith Lockaby's father was John (Doc) Lockaby and her mother was Maybelle Harris.
