I've spent most of the day doing a complete revamp of JohnDilbeck.com. I'm working to make it load faster and I'll be adding extra sections over the next few weeks. I'm doing some things in a totally new way and so far I'm happy with the results. This would have been impossible (or at least much more difficult) to do without Radio UserLand, a program that's difficult to describe, but it combines a database, outliner, programming language, web server, weblog, ftp agent, and more in one product. It takes a while to master, but it's the most powerful web authoring environment I've seen so far. Thanks to Dave and all the crew at UserLand. **JD**   8:53:14 PM

Amber Sorenson, a very talented artisan who lives in Texas talked me into making her a gold-painted Steel Rose. Since I shipped it to her, I have added some photos of her rose on my site and on some tshirts and other products. When I told her it was her rose on the shirts, she reminded me that she has shirts and such with Billy Bob, Texas Cowboy Cockroach on them. I love that character! She also makes beautiful carved eggshells. I just had to mention Billy Bob's shirts! **JD**    8:46:16 PM

I've made some more changes in how I'm editing and publishing my weblog. Let's see what this does. (Sorry for the confusion if you're just visiting my site for the first time!) **JD**    12:13:38 PM

I've been working on my new method of updating my weblog using Radio Userland's MUOTD. It's working better. I've modified the template and I'm getting a compatible page when using in in conjunction with server side includes (SSI) on JohnDilbeck.com. I'm still not quite certain what's happening on John Dilbeck's Ramblings (http://johndilbeck.editthispage.com), but I suspect it's a conflict with running it as a news site. At least I'm making progress, though slowly. Next, I'll see if I can convert my Ramblings site (served on a UserLand Manilla server) to Radio UserLand format and then re-publish it using MUOTD. It's starting to sound like alphabet soup, but, when it works, it'll mean I can write one article and then publish it to multiple locations right from my desktop. I'm looking forward to that. **JD**    12:43:48 AM
