New! Gold and Silver Steel Rose Finishes. (05/24/2001 07:53 EDT) I've had several people asking if I could provide my limited-edition, signed and numbered steel roses in a finish other than the traditional waxed finish I've been offering for the last couple of years.
I took some time this month to test a way of painting the roses that would provide good coverage, rust protection, and a good look. As of now, I'm offering the roses painted gold or silver, in addition to the wax finish, and I'll consider other colors. I'm also investigating painting the roses with a base color and having an artist I know hand-paint the roses. More on that later.
The three roses that I've painted gold or silver have turned out great, and I'm happy to offer these new finishes.
You can see a sample of the new gold-painted rose by clicking the title of this article.

7:05:31 AMAHC Store Opens! (05/24/2001 07:07 EDT) It's taken a little over a year, but our new arts and crafts cooperative, Appalachian Heritage Crafters, is going to preview our brand new store today in Murphy, North Carolina. Tomorrow morning at 10:00 we open for business!
Lots of people have worked very hard to make this happen and I'd like to thank each of you.
If you're in Murphy, or passing by, please drop by and take a look. You'll probably find something you really, really want! (grin)
Thanks everyone who made this happen.
