Thoughts and ideas as they occur to me.

Working on my directory. (12/12/2000 18:31 EST) I've been spending quite a bit of time developing a directory on my John Dilbeck's Ramblings website. Unlike Yahoo! and DMOZ, I'm not trying to be all-inclusive. I'm only going to list sites in which I'm interested, and I have wide-ranging interests.

I'm just learning how to set this up, and I'll probably make some mistakes, but it's been lots of fun and very interesting, so far.

Two of the things I really want to concentrate on are artists and crafters (and suppliers for them) and a regional directory of western North Carolina (west of Asheville). I'll be adding many other sites, but these are two of my main interests.

And, I'm keeping track of my greatly expanding number of websites so I don't forget where they are!

Drop by and check it out when you get a chance. If you know of an outstanding site I don't have listed (and there are millions of them!), either send me an email or click on suggest a link on any page of my directory that has at least one link. I'm open to adding new headings and subheadings as they're necessary (or as I want to add them).

Joann.com is running a sale on holiday items. (12/12/2000 17:45 EST) I just noticed that Joann.com is running a 50% off sale on their holiday items. Just click the title to go see. I recommend this company.

I've spent some time making roses lately. (12/12/2000 17:10 EST) If you've happened to notice, I haven't been writing too much online for the last week or so. I've finally made some time to get up to the smithy and make a few roses. I had a blast playing in the fire and swinging my hammers! ;^)

The orders are done and I'll mail 'em out tomorrow. This may be the last orders for the year since I won't take any more orders after 12/15/2000 until March 1, 2000. We had some cold, windy weather move in and it's just no fun working when I can't feel my fingers or toes. This also frees me up to do some other tasks I've committed myself to during January and February. I'll look forward to getting back to the shop in March.

Now, back to finding interesting things for artists and crafters, and others who have a small business and want to market their products over the Internet. I'm having a blast doing that myself. All of my orders this month came from the Internet and were shipped out of state to people I'd never have had the pleasure of getting to know, otherwise.
