The Joy of X: Mac's Hot New OS... PC World has a short article on Apple's upcoming new operating system that's due early next year. For me, this is the first good reason I've seen to upgrade to a new Mac in the last five years. My trusty old 8500 will one day be replaced by a new G4 running OS X, which gives the best features of the Macintosh and includes a full version of Berkeley Unix, hidden from view unless you know how to find it, and, yes, it includes the command line for the old Unix jockeys amongst us. The best of both worlds--the security of a Unix filesystem, pre-emptive multi-tasking, protected memory space, full-featured Unix development system, and the legendary ease of use of a Macintosh--all in one box.   12:12:23 PM

Online writer's tools. Wordsmiths (and some of the rest of us) sometimes want to know the exact flavor of a word when crafting a sentence that has to have just the right impact. Here's a link to dictionary.com, which, in turn, has links to an online version of Roget's Thesaurus, and other writer's tools. I didn't even know this existed until a few minutes ago.   9:54:39 AM

History of affiliate programs. A brief history of affiliate programs, and they didn't start with Amazon.com.    9:35:38 AM
