Free copy of Jay Abraham's Stealth Marketing book. From the web page: "Don't let the word 'stealth' mislead you. There's not one vaguely dishonest or slightly unethical tactic, strategy or concept in this book. Stealth marketing is a systematic, non- traditional way of thinking, an approach that shows you how to use low key action systems that allow you to operate 'under the radar' to take over as much of your industry as you choose. Quietly, confidently, and with much lower risk than your competitors." Download the free Adobe Acrobat .pdf file today. 1:18:56 PM

Authors: Promoting and marketing your book. Here's a web page devoted to helping authors promote and market their books. Dan Poynter is the author and publisher of The Self-Publishing Manual. From this page: "Promoting books is easy and fun. If you are a private person, you may send out review copies, news releases, email and direct mail advertising. If you love to get out, there are autograph parties, radio/TV interviews and speaking. There are numerous places to sell your books and many ways to promote them. " From the author: "My system works. In the back of The Self-Publishing Manual, I ask readers to send me their books once they publish. I receive 15 to 20 books each week." 12:20:20 PM
An interview with Alvin Toffler. It's been 30 years since Future Shock was published. In this interview by James Daly, Mr. Toffler brings us up to date with his observations. From the interview: "...Change is not just a question of demanding faster reactions. It has to do with decision-making. In our present genetic form, we have certain limits on our ability to cope with this pace of rapid decision-making. That[base ']s not only true for us as individuals, but it[base ']s true for businesses, and congresses, and governments, and other institutions. When it comes to decision-making, we[base ']re having a hard time keeping up...." And: "Remember that misinformation is simply a subset of information. And it[base ']s not all pernicious. What do you call knowledge that[base ']s no longer accurate or true? Obsolete knowledge? I call it 'ignorage.' There is an enormous amount of it around. It[base ']s something people believe, it may be a fact or a process, that is no longer correct. " 12:04:03 PM

How do you decide what price to put on your projects?" 10:46:30 AM
Selling Crafts Online - How To Plan For Success! From the article: "After speaking with many craft persons in business, I hear over and over again that they want to put their work for sale on the Internet, but they don't know how or where to begin. Just so you have a perspective, the majority of craft artists selling online have increased revenues from 10% to 20% over their off-line marketing activities. Few crafters rely 100% on the Internet for sales, but as total online sales grow (over $16 billion retail consumer sales in 1999,) you will find yourself more excited to be online and ready for doing business." 10:42:54 AM
Vital Submissions. From the article by Brian Alt: "As the face of Internet searching keeps changing, more and more of the portals are using search data from a few select sources. The advantage of this, of course, is that getting your site listed well in a few correct places will translate to significant traffic from multiple sources. And as the targeted traffic to your site from search engines increases, so will the influx of new subscribers to your ezine. The following submissions are those considered 'vital' to attract significant search engine and portal traffic to your ezine's Web site." 10:06:54 AM

From the article: "Some search engines blur the lines with 'paid inclusion' programs...[m]any search engines are now taking some paid placement listings from GoTo.com and integrating them into their search results. The bulk of the page remains editorially-derived, which is not the case at GoTo.com itself." He presents a chart that provides a guide to search engines that offer significant ways that advertisers can be present on search results pages. 9:53:33 AM

9:43:02 AMPresidency Hangs in the Balance... They said it would be a close race. Now, it looks like the difference in the popular vote in Florida is less than 0.5% between the candidates, so they're doing the mandatory recount as required by Florida law. This doesn't take into account the several thousand international absentee ballots that only had to be postmarked yesterday and may come into the election headquarters over the next several days. Newspaper headlines are being changed, the news media is in a tizzy. Who would have thought it would be this close. 9:33:49 AM
